Nancy began her ministry at Willow Glen
in July of 1999. Before this, she served at churches in sizes from 40
to 4300 members in Oklahoma, Nevada and California. "I felt called to the ordained ministry very early in life but had never seen a female pastor so didn't think that was possible. The call kept coming to me but I didn't do anything about it until I was 30 years old. I think God knew I needed to do some maturing before I could be a pastor." Born in San Franciso and raised in San Diego, Nancy moved to Oklahoma with her husband's job transfer where she ended up living there for 20 years. Nancy graduated from Perkins School of Theology at SMU (Dallas, TX) in 1985 and has been serving churches since June of 1985. Before going to seminary she was a director of Christian Education. Nancy loves reading, interior decorating, and going to musicals & concerts. Her daughters are Renee (an engineer) and Meredith (a kindergarten teacher, married to John who is an attorney and both of whom are parents to her grandson & granddaughter). |

For Susan, children are the most important people in the church. They're not just the church of the future; they're the church of NOW! For this reason, Susan is committed to providing a place where children and families can grow together in their faith, experiencing God's presence in their lives and learning to respond to that incredible love. On Sunday mornings, you'll find Susan sharing stories with the children, singing and dancing with them, participating in Sunday School projects, or just sitting with children to hear about their lives. Susan shares her life with her husband Stephen (a high school history teacher) and her son Casey. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, baking, sewing, and being a mom. She also loves to spend time with her friends and family for whom she feels truly blessed. |

Lisa Jacobs is the Joint Youth Director for WIllow Glen. Lisa's desire to be a Youth Pastor started when she was 16 and she has pursued that passion ever since. She worked in the Episcopal church, the Free Methodist Church and the Urban ministry program at Westmont College. She graduated from Westmont College in 2002 with a major in Religious Studies and an emphasis in Urban Ministry. She has been working as the Joint Youth Director for over 2 years and loves serving, working with and getting to know the in's and outs of young people. Everyone always asks if she will soon study to be a pastor of adults and Lisa's response is this; "I believe that the young people are one of the most important parts of a congregation. Churches need relevant, affirming programs that help point teenagers towards God. Youth ministry is essential to the life of any church and my desire is to help facilitate that growth wherever God leads me. I can never imagine myself working with anyone but teenagers!" |

Ingrid spent 25 years working in the corporate world in the areas of computer systems and financial analysis. For 16 of those years, Ingrid balanced a full time job with being a wife and mother of two while also pursuing her passion – spiritual growth. That passion becomes immediately apparent if you spend just a few minutes with her, and it is that passion that brought her to the staff at WGUMC in August 2006, a year after she left the corporate world to try to discern what a more meaningful path would be for her. As we see our children and youth growing spiritually through the passionate direction of Susan Smith and Lisa Jacobs, Ingrid sees a challenge to all adults in the congregation – to grow with the children; to catch up if you’re behind; or to lead the way by example, modeling the importance of staying connected to God through all stages of life. |
